“I design for a sophisticated woman…”- NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD

“I design for a sophisticated woman with an implicit understanding of luxury who has a strong defined vision of herself and her personal style.” – NICHOLAS KIRKWOOD

Nicholas Kirkwood could be qualified as a shoes genius designer! A good proof of this qualification is the recent acquisition of a majority stake of the company by LVMH. This push will allow the designer to expand while further exploring the boundaries of his creativity.

Nicholas Kirkwood is an alumnus of Central Saint Martins (this school really “gives birth” to genius!) and Cordwainers, where he learnt shoe design. He then designed footwear for Rodarte, Erdem, Roksanda Ilincic and Peter Pilotto. The designer launched his brand in 2004, with Christopher Suarez as his business partner.  Since then, the label has been growing quite fast: his collections are currently distributed in more than 150 stores around the world and attract a large range of clientele. The three flagship stores are located in London, New York and Las Vegas.

There is a blend of geometry, excess, exuberance and beauty in his shoes that makes the result perfectness. Craftsmanship and innovation are at the center of his creations and Christopher masters all types of shoes: from the flats to the very high heels and even the mid-height heels that are considered to be “the hardest heel height to make chic!”.

He launched a men collection earlier this year and the next step will be bags. We can’t wait!!
