Karl Lagerfeld to design his hotel in Macau

The legendary Mister Lagerfeld and a Macau casino operator announced their plan for the designer to create his 270-room hotel, which will open in 2017. The hotel’s design will be “kind of 19th-century style, but I want it modern at the same time”.

We cannot post an article about Karl, without adding one of his quote…so here it is, him commenting his project:  “You know, Gabrielle Chanel always said, ‘I only make dresses I would wear.’ And I make only rooms where I would like to sleep. It’s as simple as that,” Lagerfeld said. “When I do a thing like this, I think, ‘Would you live there or not? Do you want to wake up there? Do you think the bathroom is comfortable?’ It’s very childish thinking, but you know it’s like the song ‘My Way’.” He is fabulous!

The Karl Lagerfeld hotel will be part of the Lisboa Palace complex, which would also include a Versace-themed hotel designed by the Italian fashion label.
