The retail revolution – Marc Jacobs Instagram shop

How frustrated can we get when we see a truly desirable product on Instagram, but we can not, by any means, directly shop it… But why?!?! well, the social media platform does not allow for clickable links.

Marc Jacobs, “the luxury geeky brand”, has come up with a revolutionary shoppable Instagram experience to bypass its no clickable link policy. Followers of  @marcjacobsbeauty are invited to register their email address and Instagram account, they will then receive emails with purchase details for products they liked with the #shopmjb hashtag.

“Customers receive an email with shopping information and application tips for any product with the hasthag #ShopMJB that they’ve ‘liked’ from @MarcBeauty on Instagram, keeping the interaction wholly between the Marc Jacobs Beauty social fan and our brand. We’ll also be sharing exclusive deals and offers to our followers through this experience.” explains Kelly Coller, senior director of marketing at Kendo.

Marc Jacobs Beauty was launched last Summer and aims at a highly connected clientele, looking for new ways to shop.
